Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society Chapter at PCI

The Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society was established in 1977 to recognize and acknowledge outstanding graduates of private career colleges and schools nationwide. PCI Health Training Center established itself as a local Chapter of the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society in 2003.

Alpha Beta Kappa Society places chapters in nationally accredited institutions which have demonstrated high standards over a period of years in the education and training of men and women in a variety of fields, trades and occupations essential to modern society. The principal purpose of the Society is to encourage and recognize superior student academic achievement, character and leadership. The fact that an individual is elected to membership in this honor fraternity sets her or him apart as an exemplar of personal integrity and excellence.

National Student Recognition

Outstanding Graduates can list the distinction of membership in Alpha Beta Kappa on all future resumes when pursuing employment.

Each honor graduate elected to membership receives a personalized membership certificate which includes the name of the school, the Chapter name, the date of graduation and the official Alpha Beta Kappa gold seal of distinction.

Honor graduates also receive the Honorary Alpha Beta Kappa Gold Key bearing two of the finest words in any language - "Integrity" and "Excellence."

Honors Program Selection Criteria

Students may graduate with Honors and receive special recognition at the PCI graduation ceremony; if they take and pass a national certification exam and meet two of the three attendance and grade point criteria listed below. Note: only the top 10% of eligible students from each graduating class will be inducted.

National Certification – Students must pass a national certification exam, such as the NCCT National Certified Medical Assistant, National Certified Medical Office Assistant or ASPT with a score of 90% or higher

Class Attendance – Students must attend at least 90% of all scheduled classroom hours.

Theory grade point average must be at least 90% or higher

Laboratory grade point average must be at least 90% or higher

Students must have obtained their High School Diploma or GED certificate

Student Council / Volunteerism – additional points may be earned thorough serving on the PCI Student Council or assisting with on campus school activities such as blood drives, food drives or other special events.
